While a studio in central Belgrade costs EUR 80,000-120,000, for the same money in many parts of Serbia you can buy a family house with a yard. Subotica, Zrenjanin, Leskovac, and Pirot offer houses of 100-150m² for prices under EUR 100,000, often with a maintained yard and garage.
Particularly interesting are cities like Sombor — declared one of the best small cities for living in Europe — where a 120m² house with a garden costs around EUR 60,000-80,000. For remote workers with Belgrade salaries, this is an opportunity for significantly more space and quality of life.
However, before buying outside major cities, check the availability of fast internet connection, road infrastructure conditions, and distance from healthcare facilities. The growth of remote work opens new possibilities, but infrastructure in some parts of Serbia still lags behind the needs of modern life.
